Empowerment ” The process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights.”

Empowerment in a Personal health context, empowerment refers to the level of choice, taking control of your own decisions based on your desired outcome. Empowerment comes once we convert intention into action, giving yourself permission to succeed. When one is feeling self confident and good self esteem this is similar to empowerment.

Steps To Empowerment-

Know yourself: be your best friend, know and understand your strengths and weaknesses. Realise you are deserving and give yourself permission to embrace this. Become self aware this helps you understand why you feel a certain way, use this awareness to change what no longer serves you.

Mindset : now this is important, and often where you may need the help of a Counsellor or Life coach; we want to flip the script so we are building on what is working not what isn’t working.

Goals : set your goals and be specific, focus on what means the most to you, remember make your goals achievable.

Re-access : check in and revisit your progress, journalling helps with this. If at anytime it feels overwhelming perhaps make smaller goals. At times we need to challenge our mindset as our negative or auto pilot narrative will take over- remember flip the script. “If you always do what you’ve always done you’ll always get what you’ve already got.”
